The success of any project proposal depends on how well you are able to engage with your community. The user involvement in the project can help you shape your project vision; ensure you are responding to local needs and help you build support for your proposed ideas. Thus, involving community at the right stage in design processes can help in building lasting relationships within community and ensures your proposal is value addition to the neighborhood, making it a sustainable project.
This course will enable students to understand importance of community engagement process, explore tools and techniques and responds effectively to the local needs and context. Each project is unique and demands a tailored approach to community engagement and collaboration in the development of better built environment.
