This workshop attempts to explore, critique & decipher the Avantgarde thought processes that have influenced the course of contemporary architecture & design. It intends to help participants locate their design approach within a theoretical framework as well as follow a consistent thought process. The participants will be introduced to an array of design practices engaged in exploring radical ideas which are shaping the future of the current discourse in architecture. A series of presentations comprising of works of different architects and their path breaking projects will be shared with an attempt to decode their design process from conception to resolution & execution. The projects will be analyzed as an amalgamation of distinct layers such as site context, programme, structure, services, circulation, landscape. We intend to create an awareness about new hybrid typologies of design such as revitalization of public spaces, adaptive reuse of abandoned infrastructures, spaces for public participation, etc. which enhance the quality of our built environments. The workshop shall be conducted on a digital platform with a digitized report as a culmination of the research & discussions.
