Technically Origami is the traditional Japanese art of paper folding, the goal of which is to transform a flat sheet of paper into a finished sculpture without cutting or using glue. But it is not just about folding paper. It is a practice that focuses on training attention and awareness in order to bring mental processes under greater voluntary control and thereby developing capacities such as calmness, clarity and concentration. In one word - ‘Meditation’.

Origami (Transformation of planar paper sheets into 3D sculptures with diverse typologies- a sustainable approach) is now a topic of rapidly growing interest in the design and engineering research communities due to its potential in a broad range of applications from self-folding to space-saving techniques.
