Walking with the Masters

This course is designed to introduce the students to the work of Impressionists like Van Gogh, Paul Gaugin, Claude Monet, Edgar Dega, Cezanne (*subject to change) and Contemporary Indian Artists like Jehangir Sabawala, Amrita Sher-Ghil, Anjolie Ela Menon.
This will be done through the study of their lives, events and socio-political climate of the world at these times. We will compare and critique the works of Frida Kahlo and compare Picasso and M.F Husain.
Students will also physically explore the work of each artist through the interpretation and study of their work, strokes and colors used and their styles
Demo classes will be conducted to introduce the students to the media we will use.
For Eg. In Pastels & Water Color we will explore the color palette & study the styles of the Artists and compare their differences
The final outcome on the last day will be the self-expression exercises of the students, but in the style of one selected artist (In their chosen media)
Material List: A3 Size Cartridge Paper, Pastel Papers, Soft Pastels (Camel) (Set of 24), Artist Watercolor Cakes, Brushes [Micro super fine (Round – 0, 2, 4, 6, 8) and Flat Brush No. 6]
