Mihir kanti Das Had been teaching in different Universities of repute, including CEPT University, & in other states (MBA, B Tech etc.). Grounded in maritime domain for 4 decades and exposed to maritime museums abroad. Conceptualized and implemented the first Floating Maritime Museum in the country (Was rare globally). This course comes as a dream to share with creative minds. A blogger & writer. Surajit Das CEPT-ian Architect, worked on several multidisciplinary creative projects ( both India & abroad) had the opportunity to gain exposure in and engage with the creative industry, including architects, designers, scenographers, curators, art historians, traditional and contemporary artists to co-create and manifest their visions into numerous site specific art installations
Heritage embraces more than collections of objects or monuments, it includes intangible manifestations such as traditions of living expressions. Indian Ships dominated the Indian Ocean from over 4000 B.C. till 17th Century & it is the only ocean in the world, to be named after a country.
Museums are sources of significant contribution towards the safeguarding of intangible heritage, using their mandate, infrastructures and resources to develop creative initiatives about its preservation. The maritime trade (now possibly in sci-fi era) has propelled the human development.
Heritage embraces more than collections of objects or monuments, it includes intangible manifestations such as traditions of living expressions. ICOM recognizes this role well.
The SDG 14 focuses on life below water; understanding and creating a live-communication model would support the Government’s action plan. Course will provide a wide range of modern, sustainable, relational design models that will enable synthesis of the demands of the heritage preservation with core values, future business & infrastructure demands. For delivery, the course would rely heavily on case studies from India and abroad.
